Prague is famous for its number of churches, historical monuments, castles and towers. That is why there is a wide range to choose from regarding the religious wedding ceremony. But this works across the whole Czech Republic. Although it is usually possible to have a religious wedding ceremony even in other place than in a church (gardens are very famous nowadays), churches have fantastic atmosphere and most of the couples want to have their wedding ceremony in church. Today we are introducing you few of many wonderful Roman-Catholic churches in Prague.
Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul in Vyšehrad
Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul in Vyšehrad is a neo-Gothic church located in Vyšehrad fortress. It was founded about year 1 070 by Czech king Vratislav II. The basilica has beautiful decorations and paintings inside and looks amazing from outside as well. Behind the basilica there is a big park suitable for wedding pictures and also Romasque basilica. Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul in Vyšehrad is very popular for weddings. Its capacity is about 100 seats.
Church of Holy Salvator
Church of Holy Salvator is known as one of the most valuable early Baroque monuments in Prague. It was a church of the Jesuits in the past and its currently used by Roman Catholic Academic Parish. Many concerts are held in the church as well. It is located just next to Charles Bridge and there is amazing view to Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and other panorama from its terrace. The interior of the church is wonderful. White high decorated halls looks amazing and gives the church beautiful light. Weddings at church of Holy Salvator are fabulous. Its capacity is over 200 seats.
St. Vitus Cathedral
The Cathedral of Saints Vitus is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Prague, the seat of the Archbishop of Prague. This beautiful cathedral is a prominent example of Gothic architecture and is the largest and most important church in the Czech Republic. Its located within Prague Castle and contains the tombs of many Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors, the cathedral is part of the Prague Castle complex. St. Vitus Cathedral is an amazing place for the wedding ceremonies, it has a huge capacity (hundreds of people) but the wedding ceremonies can be held here usually after 5PM.
St. Joseph´s church in Lesser Town
This baroque monastery church was completed in 1702. The church’s interior is one of the richest in Prague and its very beautiful. It has not only very nice architecture but also furniture, paintings, sculptures and other works of art. Masses here are also conducted in French. Its suitable for smaller weddings.
